Harry Hare is the Executive Producer and founder of DEMO Africa. DEMO Africa is a launch pad for emerging technologies and trends in Africa and is modeled around DEMO US, which has been the birthplace to more than 50% of todays mainstream technologies.
Mr. Hare has deep knowledge and understanding of the African technology landscape having followed it for the last 16 years. He is a regular ICT commentator on both national and continental ICT issues and consulted widely by Government Agencies, International Organizations and the Private Sector on strategic ICT issues including technology acquisition, ICT Policy and Strategy formulation and ICT to business alignment.
He is also co-founder and Director of African eDevelopment Resource Centre (AeRC) a technology Publishing, Consulting, Research and Training firm based in Nairobi. AeRC has trained over 5000 engineers from over 28 African Countries in the last six years. He has been an active commentator and thought leader on ICT development in the region.
He has been involved in numerous consulting assignments on e-Government in the East African region and assisting Governments to craft their e-Government implementation strategies. This work includes setting up the East African e-Government Working Group and the development of the East African e-Government Framework that was ratified by the East African Council of Ministers.
He writes regularly and he is a founder and publisher of Chief Information Officer (CIO) East Africa, an ICT information platform that publishes a monthly print publication (CIO East Africa), an online ICT portal (www.cio.co.ke) and a series of CIO targeted events including the CIO Executive Breakfast Series, the CIO Golf Series and the CIO 100 Awards and Symposium.
Mr. Hare sits in several national and regional ICT committees, advisory board member of several companies in Kenya, Director and Board Member of OMS Africa Ltd, KUL Africa, OKAKI Africa and EMS Kenya Limited.
